Choose a Patron Saint
This page will help you brainstorm which saints could be a good fit to become your patron saint. Go through the process to identify names (write them down!), and then learn more about those saints before making your final decision.
There are many websites and books that could help you, but we make suggestions to get you started.
Saints Who Share Your Name(s)
Start by looking up saints who share your given name and/or baptismal name. Note that there are many saints who have the same first name, and some less-known saints have very compelling stories.
Saints Who Share Your Dates
Now look for saints whose feast days (or dates of birth/death) match your birthday or baptism day.
Saints who Share Your Interests
Many saints are assigned to be the patron saint of particular interest, topic, profession, or need.

Saints with a Quality You Want to Develop
We choose patron saints because they have virtues and other qualities we want to develop in ourselves, or perhaps an area in which you need help. If there is a particular area in which you want to grow, consider choosing a saint who is a good model for it.
Newer Saints
Many people choose popular saints who have been around for centuries, and for good reason. But there are also many very interesting and holy people who have become saints much more recently and could be easier to relate to.
Learning More
Once you have a list of names, spend some time researching the life stories of these models of living holy lives. Here are good sites to learn more about Catholic saints:
